"He sat in the bookstore--pen in hand, thought about goats--don't ask me why, goats Mr. Soderman that is what he was doing, and he was looking at some magazines, and talking about building a goat ranch.

"He signed the paperwork for the purchase of 4000-acres in Alabama; he's also going to build a fence around it, its all on paper though, at the bookstore, on napkins first he wrote it out, then he pulled out some official papers from his briefcase, yup, that is exactly what he did, Mr. Soderman," said Mark Costello.

"He never seen the land I do believe, picked it out of a magazine, the one I think that was by his side, it had a few pictures of it, of the land in Alabama that is, he underlined the the words 'land,' called on his cell phone, talked to someone, ordered a fence to be built around it. As if everything would take care of itself thereafter. He lives here in Minnesota, and the land is in Alabama, unbelievable.

"His drawings on the napkins kind of helped him know what kind of fence he wanted I suppose, because it is what he ordered, described to the person over the phone. I noticed the table was green, and very clean, not sure why I noticed that, and I noticed he was eating a piece of coffeecake, with a strong looking latté, funny I wasn't hungry, I just kind of looked; anyhow there I was at his green table, and here I am talking to you, and there he was looking at all this stuff, sight unseen, and I asked him: 'How can you do this--buy a goat ranch, sight unseen; how do you know things will be ok, work out as you are planning them? I mean, perchance, this is land the devil himself doesn't' want, did you ever think of that?'

"That is what I told him Mr. Soderman, loud and clear, and he just, just looked at me as if I was not even there, not a worry in his face, not a moved eyebrow, or twitches of his nose, or deep sigh. A flat look, and here again I say, pen in hand, and he started writing out checks. Yes indeed, checks for the land, and the goats, and the fence.

'Here,' he says to me. Combining all the checks together, and handing them to me."'

"What did you do?" asked Mr. Soderman.

"Do, what did I do, what could I do, I was his lawyer, I took the checks; do you think I'd get out of bed at 2:00 AM, run down to this café and not--I mean...?"

"Changing the subject Mr. Lawyer, why are you telling me all this?"

--Mark sat back, facing the window at Mr. Soderman's back, his obvious humorous back.

"Is that all you have to say Mr. Costello?" said Soderman.

"Sure," he spit out, adding, "he had them goats in his mind and he knew they were...actually, he lived this before he said, yes that is what he said, it was a repeat, now I remember, that is what he said, a repeat, his life, that is what he said, a repeat! He had to live it over and over until he got it right--so he said.

"What then does that make you and me if he is living a repeated life, over and over until he gets it right?"

"Dead," said Mr. Soderman--

Mark looked at him, fading: pale, a fainted look, fogy like, he became, right in front of him, then said,

"He must have gotten it right this time"; Mark still looking out the window, everything around him fading now, melting into nothingness, even himself.

What's Happening to Jennifer's Body? A Warning

Warning: DO NOT get into the van with the blacked-out windows. I don't care how cool and sexy the boys in the emo band are and how much you want to make out with the lead singer you've been stalking. In reality, the guys in the emo band Low Shoulder are attempting to kiss the devil's butt by sacrificing a virgin (which, btw, you are so not) in the spooky woods beside Devil's Kettle in hopes the dark lord will make them rich and cool like Maroon 5. Just so ya know.

But should you find yourself the unwitting victim of a Satanic sacrifice by emo boys, you'll become a succubus, a demon who feasts on the flesh of poor, helpless high school boys. Boys are so easily led astray by their nether regions, and so make the perfect victims. The only way to kill your undead body is to drive a knife through your heart while you are hungry, having been thwarted from feeding on your bff's boyfriend.

All of this paranormal knowledge is gained by watching Jennifer's Body, the horror film penned by Diablo Cody, the brilliant writer of Juno. Don't listen to reviewers who are boys; they are simply miffed at being portrayed as vulnerable chunks of demon chow. (Boys, this is the way girls have felt while watching slasher films since the dawn of filmmaking.) If you like a little funny with your scary/grotesque, this is great stuff. The ending, in which Needy (Amanda Seyfried, the perky blonde star of Mamma Mia! and Dear John) gets revenge on the band who literally demonized her childhood friend (Megan Fox), is perfection.

Plus, it has great throwaway lines like, "Do you buy all your murder weapons at Home Depot? God, you're so butch!"

Northrend Maps

Millions of players are in great anticipation of the release of Wrath of the Lich King in World of Warcraft. One of the many features that these players are looking forward to is the new continent of "Northrend". While Blizzard Entertainment is keeping a lot of information about this widely anticipated continent under tabs, there has been some information released that players can use to learn more about this continent. In this guide, you will be exposed to some of the information that is available regarding the continent of Northrend in World of Warcraft.

Northrend is the cold, ominous home to the evil Lich King. The continent is said to be extremely icy, and there seems to be dark cloud hanging over the area. This is the area where the Icecrown Citadel is located. This is the residence of the evil Lich King. The continent is located in the North. Originally, this area was actually part of Kalimdor. It has been quoted that the continent is referred to as "the roof of the world". Now, it is literally a complete wasteland that broke from Kalimdor due to a break during the "Sundering". This is a world event that occurred in World of Warcraft that reshaped the way that Azeroth looks. This occurred after the War of the Ancients, about 10,000 years prior to where we are now.

When the "Well of Eternity" was destroyed, it actually led to the Cataclysm. Right at about 80% of the general land was destroyed. Now, we are left with just the lands of Kezan, Eastern Kingdoms, Northrend, and Kalimdor. The ever-popular "Well of Eternity" is now called "Maelstrom" which is a powerful vortex. Northrend drifted up in the cold waters and rested in the North of all other lands...overtaken by the cold, the snow, the ice...it became the suitable resting place for the ominous Lich King, thousands upon thousands of immense dragons in the area of "The Dragonblight", only they are in the form of skeletons, and the Nerubians. These are men, but are encouraged by the shadows and are in the forms of spiders. Every once in a while, you may run across a human, or maybe even a troll...but this is a rare occurrence.

Wine on a Budget

Economic hard times and their side effects don't mean that a person has to stop drinking wine or start drinking cheap wine from a gallon jug. It is still possible to get some really good wines for really good prices. Indeed, there are some incredible bargains in wine out there if you know where to look.

Here are a few tips for finding wine bargains that anybody on almost any budget can employ to put a good bottle of wine on the table.

Tip One: Look for wine bottles with caps instead of corks. Contrary to popular belief the cork does nothing for the taste or quality of the wine. Wines with a metal screw top are just as good as those with corks. When you go to the liquor store look for wine bottles that have metal caps instead of corks. Be on the look out for higher end brands of wine like Lindemans and CK Mondovi with screw tops. These will sell for three or four dollars less a bottle than wine with a cork. Many of these are restaurant bottles which are being retailed because of the bad economy. The cork is purely a matter of tradition and snobbery not quality.

Tip Two: Don't be afraid to try a wine in a box. There are several excellent table wines in a box out there. Australians have been drinking premium wine in a box for decades. Look for the slightly more expensive wines in a box. This can get you two or three liters of really good wine for under $20.

Tip Three: Look for larger bottles of wine. Many quality wines including Mondovi and Concha de Toro come in 1.5 liter bottles that sell for $7-$10. Buying these especially when they are on sale, is $2-3 or cheaper than buying two 750 milliliter bottles.

Tip Four: Go south, wine from Southern Hemisphere nations like Australia, Chile, Argentina and South Africa is just as good or even better than American or French wine and it's a lot cheaper. In large liquor stores it's possible to pick up a good 750 mm bottle of Chilean Merlot or Cabernet for $5 and 1.5 liters of Argentine cabernet for $7-$9. Many big liquor stores regularly put these wines on sale for $4 or $5 a bottle. Even a high end award winning Chilean wine like Concha Toro Diablo will often sell for under $10 a bottle.

Tip Five: Check the bargain bin. Many liquor stores, especially larger liquor stores will have a bargain bin or bargain corner that contains wines that haven't been selling well or are getting a little old. These wines aren't bad the store just wants to get rid of them. It's often possible to find really good wine in these bins for $4-$6 a bottle. If you don't see the bargain bin ask about it, it might be hidden in the corner.

Tip Six: Shop the sales. Big liquor stores and large retailers that stock wine use loss leaders. That is they discount a few particular types of wine to draw customers in. You can take advantage of this by shopping for wine like you shop for groceries. Check the ads, find out which store has the wine you want at the best price and go there. One bonus tip, shop right after the sale begins because the bargains sometimes run out. Don't forget to ask for rain checks too, many stores will give these on out of stock bargains if you ask.

Tip Seven: Stock up. Wine can keep for months or even years after you buy it. This means that if you see a really good deal on your favorite wine and you have the money stock up on it. Buy a case or cases of that wine and store it in your basement or another cool, dry area that doesn't get much sunlight. Most liquor stores will sell wine by the case. To get these deals you'll have to ask a store employee but it will often be worth it. It's possible for a smart shopper to get enough wine to drink for several weeks or months. Another advantage to stocking up is that you won't have to go out and buy wine for special occasions like birthdays or holidays.

Nobody has to go without decent wine because of the bad economy. Indeed the bad economy can be a great opportunity for frugal wine drinkers to enjoy some great wine bargains.

Diablo 2 - A Very Addictive Game

The grade of addiction that Diablo 2 creates on whoever plays it, is beyond any thing you have ever imagined. Now with some new Diablo 2 items it is even more addictive. Many avid game players have been waiting for the release of this new version since Blizzard announced the sequel to the much acclaimed game Diablo. Even though the wait was long, we can say it was worth the while; we are finally able to play Diablo 2 and you should get your agenda well prepared, as you will need to spend many hours of your time, playing this game.

This new version of Diablo has new distinct characteristics. In this version, we will be able to play with two new characters, named Necromace and Amazona, in addition to the original characters in the previous version by the names Barbaro, Mago and Paladin. Some other new features in this new version of Diablo are the new abilities the characters will have and also some new Diablo 2 Items. Another interesting feature is that every time you pass to the next level, you will be able to make your character more specialized in something.

This game has four different Acts in all of which you will be pursuing Diablo and all its demonic brothers. You will need to complete several missions and tasks in order to advance to the next level and you will need to use some of the spells and tricks that you have learned. Every little thing you do through out the game will make your character either stronger or weaker. If you want to defeat the diabolical demons then you should be really prepared.

Diablo 2 has several games modes, all of which will make your heart jump out. Playing this game is very thrilling and you will spend many hours entertaining yourself when playing it. The new D2 items that are in this version are simply incomparable. They will make your gaming experience much more interesting and joyful. There are many items to choose from and all of them will give your character more probabilities of defeating the devil. You can either purchase some of these items or earn some by playing. The items are not very expensive and they will add a lot more excitement to your favorite game. If you love playing Diablo 2, then some of these items is just what you need and getting them is very easy.

You can visit a Diablo item store online and get some of them for your game. This is a good idea because it will be like playing a completely new game every time you add something to your character. Whatever item you choose to get, it will surely give you many new options and Diablo 2 will become even more addictive than it already was. By playing this game only once, the probabilities of you to become addicted to it are enormous, yet it is worth taking the risk.

Diablo 3 Review

Diablo III is more. More action, more death, more skills, more color, more history, more beauty, more top-down, click-hungry, loot-happy, quick on - the cover, randomly-generated, killing the fantasy-horror. Beneath the waves of enthusiasm generated by its return in the form of twenty minutes of impressive amount of the game, there is the slightest undertow of anti-climax.

The game takes place in the sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unknown to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago of the demonic forces of the world by some earthly heroes that were brave and powerful. Most of those warriors who directly faced the armies of fiery hell were lucky enough to survive; went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their memories and have frequently pushed the horrors from their thoughts. In Diablo III, the players will return to the sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.
The same exciting look continues on to the real game play. The characters were great and rich detail but climbed pleasant environments. The characters are great, but can still be easily dwarfed by some of the largest creatures in the game. While at first thought that this was a boss, due to its rugged package and the complexity of their attacks, was later confirmed this was hardly a crowd crushed the likes of which you expect to see on a fairly regular basis. The enemies during the game will also demonstrate a variety of behaviors.

In Diablo III, potions still play a part in the action, but downplayed by its importance. Health globes, falling off defeated enemies and will boost the health of your character and those around you if you are playing cooperatively. So developers put it, the idea of enemies dropping health is one that will keep the player moving the game forward in comparison to try to avoid combat. In addition, a new toolbar on the skill, similar in location to the old potion belt in Diablo II, will make your skills that much more accessible, allowing you to easily switch between the skills in place. You can even share the skills quickly using the mouse roller for further ease of use. The result is a game you can probably play almost entirely with your mouse, no more hunting skills for using the F key on your keyboard. Here is most important addition with respect to a cooperative game: When a character picks up a health globe, any surrounding allies also benefit from the world of health, which looks like it will encourage players to stick together when cutting and slashing your way through the game. To your ears, it also sounds like almost any kind, but will have to see how it is done while the game comes.

Diablo III will use a new system by hand, but that is currently in development. The only thing which is known for sure is that it does not involve anything as filler items in a Horadric cube. Other mysterious detail, or lack of it, is included in the game's story and the identity of the new threat as the first three evils were overcome.

Jennifer's Body DVD Release

Jennifer's Body was recently released on DVD December 29th. I admit, I didn't feel it was worth seeing on the big screen, but I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I have a new appreciation for Megan Fox in her first starring role. She's OK in transformers, but everyone knows she's so famous and people love her because of her undeniable sex appeal. Also, congrats to Amanda Seyfried, she's gorgeous and her ability to express her emotional range in her roles is amazing.

I mean, really, this movie is about a hot high school cheerleader who gets turned into a vampiresque-demon after a run in with an indie band that practices witchcraft. They take her against her will and attempt to kill her, but... the spell goes all wrong, because Jennifer lied about being a virgin! Uh-oh. Now she must eat the flesh and drink the blood of boys to survive and maintain her beauty. Now her best friend, oddly named Needy, who is a little nerdy and not as popular (all due to the glasses and a ponytail) must figure out how to stop her from killing all of the towns boys before she sets her eyes on her boyfriend Chip.

I love the dialogue, it's too funny. Being hot is referred to as being "salty" and being jealous is being "jello". I can see teen girls using these catch phrases all around school after this. Really, when Needy faces off against Jennifer, Jennifer says, "Don't be such a player hater!" Classic. Seriously, even Roger Ebert was surprised by this movie. You expect it to be another cheesy, slasher, teen horror flick, yet, it's so much more. It's also produced by Diablo Cody, the same person who did Juno. Rent it, or buy it today!

Veteran Business Loans - What Percentage Must Be Veteran-Owned?

To qualify under the Patriot Express loan program, 51% of the business must be veteran-owned, including widows or spouses of a veteran. This is simple to calculate if the veteran owns the business 100%. But what about other situations? Here are some of the examples that may apply:

• A veteran owns 51% with the other 49% owned by a non-veteran. This is acceptable.

• No one veteran owns 51% but a combination equals that percentage. For example, Fred has a 20% interest and John has a 31% interest, both veterans. This would be acceptable.

• Fred is a veteran and his wife Judy is interested in opening a beauty salon. Even though she is not a veteran, as long as she is the lawful spouse, she can make the application 100% because she may qualify "stand alone" due to her marriage status.

• In the same example above, Fred and Judy may be on the application as 50% each. This is because either of them alone would qualify for the program.

• Hank is not a veteran but his father is. His father may make the application as 51% but he cannot act solely as a co-signer. The father must have some active participation in the business, even though the day-to-day operations are managed by Hank.

Bear in mind that only 20% or more owners of the business fill-out and sign the application. So, for example, if a person only has a 15% interest, they would not be guaranteeing the loan or be part of the loan process.

So, what exactly are these loans? They are under the U.S. Patriot Express program. They are small business loans exclusively for veterans, reservists, and their spouses and widows. The funding does not come from government sources, but solely from private lenders who are licensed under the SBA. In other words, private lenders disburse the money and they are licensed and supervised by the Small Business Administration. Because the U.S. Government covers any bank losses upon default, there is more incentive for the lenders to make the loans in the first place.

Paperwork is specifically devised to be quick and simple, with no tax returns, business plans, or financials. The interest rate is also federally regulated, and is currently only 7.75% or principal and interest of $60.00 per month for every $5,000 borrowed. The loan amount amounts are typically between $5,000 and $25,000. And now some good news: There are actually lenders who are funding under this program currently.

Classic car restoration is a hobby that requires know-how, creativity and patience to turn an old beater into a gorgeous show-stopper. Cars that were made a lifetime ago require special care and upkeep. Rather than letting them sit in the barn and rust, most classic vehicles need repairs, attention and a lot of TLC.

Since most daily driver vehicles today are computerized and made from corrosion-resistant metals and/or fiberglass, and even carbon-fiber in some cases, classic vehicle restoration projects often require hard-to-come-by body parts for inside and out. This is especially true for cars whose manufacturers are no longer in business. Many vintage car owners are forced to scab together parts, modify generic replacement replicas or get lucky and find usable pieces from other enthusiasts. Once the car lover has the parts, it can be tricky to maintain or install, even working on the basics.

While many car parts were standardized in the 1940s, '50s and '60s, the dealerships often exchanged optional and even stock features among different cars on their lots in order to make a sale. Air conditioners, for example, often arrived in the back seat in mid-'60s cars. The dealership mechanics would do the installation. If a customer wanted a/c on a car that didn't have it, the dealer would remove it from another and add the option to the sales price, complete with on-site installation. Fixing an a/c unit today without completely modifying the entire system is impossible due to Freon issues and wiring problems.

While finding car parts is hard enough, fixing them or installing them is even trickier when one is not well-versed in the inner workings of that particular vehicle. From carburetors to wheel bearings, step-by-step instructions are crucial to getting the car started and moving versus leaving it in the barn. Repair manuals and do-it-yourself restoration guides are the most reliable ways to lay the groundwork for any auto project, especially the classics. While they may come with the car from a benevolent seller, they are hard to find in regular bookstores or the public library. In most cases, they are no longer published and can only be found on websites where online car repair manuals are sold or at swap meets for car enthusiasts. Without the bible for the car's inner workings, completing a restoration is difficult, if not impossible.

Chilton repair manuals can be found online, as well as Bentley or Haynes auto repair manuals. Even the most knowledgeable car buff can be stumped when it comes to classic cars. Internet forums can be helpful as well, especially when the vehicle makes noises of unknown origin that you can't seem to pinpoint. It is most helpful to find a website catering to the same make as the project vehicle. For example, classic Chevy lovers will be more able to help the owner of a Chevrolet vehicle, than a Mopar or Ford owner. The risk with this is that while they mean well, sometimes the advice is sketchy or incorrect.

While classic car restoration can be a fun hobby, it is most satisfying for those with a lot of know-how, mechanically inclined friends or a vehicle that has already been restored and needs only minimal upkeep.
