If you have ten minutes to spare out of your already busy schedule your Corvette will thank you at the end of the day. In less than ten minutes a Corvette Performance Chip or Tuner can be fully installed. Some may think that installing a Corvette Performance Chip would be difficult but they really are one of the easiest upgrades to add to the already dominating performance of the Corvette. Most of the performance chips available will provide roughly the same range of gains but they all have something to offer that makes each brand a little unique in their own way. Obviously all of the models don't look the same and just like a wrist watch the display screens all look different, some are easier to use than others and some just have a better look to them all together. Corvette Performance Chips open a whole new world up when it comes to customizing the tuning. The focus today is DiabloSport.
DiabloSport as a company was founded in 2000; they design and manufacture the most unique line of performance products in the automotive industry. Shortly after becoming a company they merged with Autologic which had been high in the field of tuning since the early 80's. Everything that DiabloSport puts into their tuners is made in house right in their factories and made in the U.S.A. They are continually advancing their technology with the very highly recruited tech teams. They have multiple product lines but for the purpose of today we will only cover two.
The DiabloSport Predator is one the most simple and basic tuners specifically designed to increase performance. The DiabloSport Predator integrates high performance flash tuning and OBD-II diagnostics capabilities in one hand-held module. This unit allows you to reprogram your original ECU chip for optimum performance. Some of the options that are available in the DiabloSport package are timing and fuel curves, air/fuel ratio, resetting speed and rev limiter, eliminating skip shift (CAGS), adjusting the speedometer for gear or tire diameter changes, turning fans on/off, turning torque management off, part and full throttle shifts and shift firmness. The DiabloSport Predator is available for both the automatic and manual transmissions and they offer a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty.
DiabloSport also offers a higher end chip/tuner called the Trinity. One the best features of the Trinity is the display screen. Unlike its counter part the Trinity stays connected and mounted to the dash of the Corvette and gives several readings that make driving fun again. With this Corvette performance tuner you have the control at your finger tips. In the diagnostics screen there are four different areas to go: Trouble codes, real time data, drag race and show calibration ID. Trinity diagnostics can read and erase fault codes, incorporates real time data monitoring with advanced logging capabilities for delivery of data output to your PC, or SD card. The trinity's dash monitor comes fully equipped with a high resolution 320X240 dpi full color display and gauges. Within a few minutes you could control a very wide variety of settings including: spark advance (multiple RPM bands), fuel tables/WOT fuel (multiple RPM bands), cooling fans, idle RPM, mass air table, rev limits, speed limits, shift points RPM/MPH and shift pressure. Kind of sounds like a video game made into real life. With the Trinity you can just about control everything in the cars computer.
Either of these applications will produce 20+ horse power at the rear wheels, gain 1-3 mpg as long you can keep that lead foot off the floor, installs in less than ten minutes and they don't void the factory warranty of the Corvette. Modern times call for modern measures.
