Unfortunately gold farming in World of Warcraft feels exactly like a chore, and considering the monthly subscription fee that the game charges, the last thing you want to do is spend your time playing World of Warcraft feeling like you are grinding away at a daily job. There are plenty of ways to make gold farming easy though, so do not fear.
One of the best strategies for making tons of gold in World of Warcraft is to start early. Lots of gold making guides recommend you to level up before trying to farm for gold, and while it is true that an hour of gold farming at level 70 or 80 is more profitable than an hour of gold farming at level 5 or 10, but that is no reason to put off your efforts to accumulate wealth for however long it takes you to reach a "suitably high level" for gold farming. The truth is that there are a number of strategies, not the least of which is savvy auction house work that can have you making decent amounts of gold right from the very beginning.
Starting early also means choosing your gathering profession early on. There is no reason to put off selecting your gathering profession unless you are not certain which one you want to choose. I am myself fond of skinning, as the beast class mobs you need to practice on can be found in almost any region of the game world. Not only that, beast class mobs will drop meat which can be used for cooking. The number of people who take up cooking as a skill means that meat is always in demand at the auction house. Of course you can always keep the meat drops for your own cooking if you want.
